Bait is used to reduce the delay before a nibble on a fishing rod by 50%. Bait can be bought at the Fish Shop for 5o each, crafted, grown in a Worm Bin, or found in Fishing Treasure Chests. Bait may also randomly appear at the Traveling Cart for 100–1 000o. Thirty bait are the reward for completing the 
Pacchetto Pesci Fluviali nella Vasca dei pesci.
Bait cannot be used with the Training Rod or the Bamboo Pole. Only the Fiberglass Rod and the Iridium Rod can use bait. Bait can also be used with Crab Pots.
Utilizzo
Per attaccare l'esca a una canna da pesca, apri l'inventario, clicca sull'esca (
col tasto sinistro o 
destro, in base a quante esce vuoi utilizzare), e poi sulla canna da pesca. Per rimuoverla, sulla canna da pesca.
Ogni volta che si lancia la canna da pesca utilizza un pezzo di esca o un magnete. Quando tutta l'esca è esaurita, il gioco fa apparire una notifica che dice "Hai usato l'ultimo pezzo di esca".
Su un controller Xbox, premi 
sull'esca per selezionare l'intera pila (o 
per prenderne una sola), quindi per attaccarla alla canna da pesca.

Bait can be used as a red dye color in the dye pots in Emily's and Haley's house, 2 Willow Lane.
Tips
- Levels 21-29 of The Mines and the Mutant Bug Lair are generally the best sources of bug meat for players focusing on fishing.
